Crawley Town fan groups in talks

"The late Bruce Winfield desperately wanted just one organisation," Supporters Club chairman Ron Parsons told BBC Sussex and BBC Surrey.

"The proposal is that both groups dissolve and a new group is formed."

Parsons added: "I feel we owe it to Bruce to carry out his wishes and I am adamant it will happen.

"Our membership will vote on it, but I am confident it will go through."

Ian Townsend, chairman of the Devils Trust, also believes that one single group will be in everyone's best interests.

"There's been a demand for it for quite a while and we've been working together this season," Townsend said.

"We all want the same thing, and that is for the club to thrive in our community.

"We're all committed to making it happen if that's what all our members want.

"But we've got to get this right. There's no point in rushing into something that in the long term won't work properly."
