Classy Robins end Crawley record

Kaid Mohamed inspired Cheltenham to a convincing 3-1 victory as Crawley suffered their first defeat in 34 league games.

Much of the damage was done in the first 45 minutes as the Robins eased into a three-goal lead.

The opener came midway through the half when Josh Low and Darryl Duffy combined on the right, with the latter turning the ball into the middle where Mohamed stroked it into the roof of the net from 12 yards.

The mercurial Mohamed was involved in Cheltenham's second on the half hour, finding Jeff Goulding on the left whose low cross was steered home by Marlon Pack.

Crawley had no answer to Cheltenham's passing but the hosts` third was route one, with Goulding steering the ball beyond keeper Scott Shearer from the edge of the area.

Duffy almost added a fourth on the stroke of half-time but fired over as he stretched to meet Low's right-wing cross.

The visitors were handed a lifeline six minutes into the second half when substitute Matt Tubbs fired home a penalty following Alan Bennett's foul on Tyrone Barnett, but there was to be no fightback.
