Crawley end poor run with victory over NewportCrawley put a depressing run of results behind them as an own goal from Scott Boden and second-half Shamir Fenelon strike gave them a deserved 2-0 victory over Newport.The Exiles had to play the final six minutes with 10 men after winger Medy Elito was sent off for two bookable offences.Crawley boss Mark Yates made six changes after branding last Saturday`s 2-0 defeat at Leyton Orient as "pathetic" and his side responded in positive fashion to dominate the first half.Welsh winger Gwion Edwards, celebrating his 23rd birthday, looked poised to give the hosts the lead midway through the half when he ran into the area, but his goal-bound shot was saved by goalkeeper Joe Day.Skipper Sonny Bradley forced Day to save again before Crawley went in front after 37 minutes when striker Boden put through his own goal.Boden headed over Day at the near post following a corner from Lyle Della Verde, who was making his home debut.Newport came to life shortly before the break when Conor Wilkinson had a cross-shot deflected for a corner before skipper Mark Byrne had a cross tipped over by goalkeeper Paul Jones.But Crawley doubled their lead eight minutes after the break through striker Fenelon, who struck from point-blank range after Della Verde's corner was headed back at the far post by Bradley.Jones preserved the hosts' two-goal lead by superbly tipping an effort from Byrne over the crossbar
